Dynamic Electrostatics is a private company with two employees. At present the company is doing research and development and is entirely self-funded. We are not hiring (sorry!) and we don't have plans to expand in the near future. Our goal is to build the strongest ionocraft the world has ever seen. We will break new ground and try to force new discoveries, as required, in this endeavor. This website is primarily being used a repository for good quality videos and photographs of various designs that we are willing to share with everyone. We disclose as much as we can in order to grow the industry (or hobby) but we may hold back some key details until we have checked them out to our satisfaction. Since 2023 devices built by Dynamic Electrostatics have increased in thrust from early beginnings at 0.04 g with totally sealed, solid state devices to 108 g thrust in large format, open architecture devices in mid 2026. Design is ongoing to develop ionocraft with over 5 N/m2 in sizes around 1 m2 by mid 2027. Small prototypes indicating over 450 g/ m2 at scale have already been tested.
